Alina Levshin

Alina Levshin was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1984. She came to Berlin with her parents at the age of six. She gained her first stage experience in the children's ensemble at Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast. She studied acting at the Konrad-Wolf-Hochschule in Potsdam. LÜGENGESPINNST was her final project, directed by Lukas Langhoff, which was performed at the Theaterschultreffen and won an award there.


During her training, she was also engaged for a role in the series ROSA ROTH, which immediately earned her a nomination for the “New Faces Award”. For her continuous role as “Jelena” in Dominik Graf's crime series IM ANGESICHT DES VERBRECHENS, Alina Levshin was nominated for the Günther Strack Television Award in 2010 for best up-and-coming actress.


This was followed by engagements in EIN FALL FÜR ZWEI, UNSERE MÜTTER, UNSERE VÄTER and the TV film DAVON WILLST DU NICHTS WISSEN directed by Tim Trachte. The actress broke with her image of the Russian woman on duty in David F. Wnendt's KRIEGERIN. With short-cropped hair and a swastika tattoo, she plays Marisa, an East German right-wing extremist. She was critically acclaimed for her role as the skinhead girl and received the Golden Lola in the “Best Female Lead” category at the German Film Awards.


From 2013 to 2014, she investigated for the Erfurt criminal investigation department in the MDR Tatort. She was nominated for the Grimme Award 2014 for her role in ALASKA JOHANSSON, a TV psychological thriller about a young woman caught between delusion and reality. In September 2014, Alina Levshin appeared on the big screen in the film LIES AND OTHER TRUTHS by Vanessa Jopp. The comedy celebrated its world premiere at the Munich Film Festival.


In March 2015, Alina Levshin was seen in SCHULD - DNA (ZDF), directed by Hannu Salonen, in a leading role in an episode. Shortly afterwards, she played a lawyer trying to find out why a young woman murdered her husband in the Sat.1 thriller DIE UNGEHORSAME. Alina Levshin previously impressed audiences in the TV thriller DER MANN OHNE SCHATTEN at the beginning of the year. The film by Carlo Rola attracted over 7 million viewers to the television. At the “Nibelungen Festival” in Worms in 2015, she was seen in the role of the boy Ortlieb. In October of the same year, ZDF showed the thriller DAS DORF DER MÖRDER with Alina Levshin in the lead role.


In 2017, Alina Levshin appeared in the mini-series CULPA on the pay-TV channel 13th Street as the daughter of a criminal who is in custody. She previously appeared in the ARD two-parter DIE DASSLERS as Käthe Dassler and in a leading role in an episode of the international series CROSSING LINES.


Alina Levshin premiered her short film project HINTER GLAS at the 51st Hof Film Festival at the end of October 2017. The film is a final project as part of further training at the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris and was co-produced by arte and SWR.


In June 2018, she starred in the Houellebecq adaptation UNTERWERFUNG by director Titus Selge on ARD. In 2019, Alina Levshin was seen in the final season of the ZDF series DIE SPEZIALISTEN - IM NAMEN DER OPFER in the role of pathologist Dr. Julia Löwe.


Alina Levshin was in front of the camera for the melodrama EIN SOMMER AN DER MOLDAU in October 2019. She played the lead role of private investigator Sophie, who gains a completely new perspective on the concept of family during her work. The film is part of ZDF's “Herzkino” series.


At the beginning of 2020, Alina Levshin was seen in the ZDFneo crime series DUNKELSTADT. In it, she took on the leading role of private detective Doro Decker.


In the summer of 2021, she was in front of the camera for ZDF during the filming of the two-part movie RAUSCH DES LEBENS, directed by Sabine Derflinger, for the TV movie DER BÄR and the ZDF thriller BLUTHOLZ, directed by Torsten C. Fischer. In the same year, she played the role of Gaby Sommer in the six-part ZDF production DER PALAST, directed by Uli Edel. The mini-series was broadcast in January 2022.


In 2022, Alina Levshin was in front of the camera for the Netflix film PARADISE by Boris Kunz. The film was broadcast in 2023. The political thriller AM ABGRUND, directed by Daniel Harrich, was shot for ARD and the TV production DÜNENKILLER, directed by Dominic Müller, for RTL.


In 2025, Alina Levshin appeared in the ARD television series FLEISCHWOLF, directed by Hiua Aloji, and in the ARD television film WEITES LAND, directed by Torsten Wacker.


In the cinema documentary BLINDER FLECK by director Liz Wiskerstrauch – a stirring documentary about organised ritualised violence against children (FBW) – Alina Levshin can be seen as a young civil servant in a fictional interrogation scene.


Alina Levshin's third short film, YOU NEVER KNOW, deals with the issue of ‘sexualised violence’ in our society. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, filming was completed in 2025. The film is currently in post-production.


Alina Levshin is currently appearing in the play ‘Eine Geistergeschichte’ (A Ghost Story) at the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm until the end of March 2026. The play is an adaptation of Danny Robins' acclaimed theatre sensation from London, directed by Marcus Ganser.


Alina Levshin has lived in Berlin since childhood.
