Pauline Pollmann
Pauline Pollmann was born in Hamburg in 2003, where she still lives today.
She discovered acting at a young age through free theatre courses, and has been hooked ever since, probably also because she had been on stage at the Hamburg State Opera since childhood.
Pauline Pollmann made her debut in front of the camera in 2011 in the successful ZDF crime series STUBBE, directed by Peter Kahane, alongside Dresden veteran Wolfgang Stumph. Director Ben von Grafenstein cast Pauline Pollmann in the 2013 biopic HELMUT SCHMIDT. Then came the gripping ARD two-parter GLADBECK, directed by Kilian Riedhof and produced by Regina Ziegler. The film about the hostage drama in August 1988 was critically acclaimed and won several awards, including two ensemble awards: the German Television Award and the German Acting Award.
While still at school, Pauline Pollmann played leading and supporting roles in various early evening TV series, gaining a wealth of experience in front of the camera.
Pauline Pollmann attracted international attention as a supporting actress in the international cinema co-production JEANNE DE BARRY. In it, she stars alongside Johnny Depp under the direction of French Cannes-winning director Maïwenn. The film centres on Jeanne du Barry (Maïwenn), the mistress of Louis XV (Johnny Depp). Pauline Pollmann's good school French helped her in the e-casting for the role of Marie Antoinette, wife of Louis XVI. She studied French intensively in Paris for the final audition and impressed the director and producers. The historical film opened the 2023 Cannes International Film Festival and was shown in cinemas worldwide.
After Cannes, Pauline Pollmann intensified her acting studies and went to New York for six months to attend Stella Adler's renowned acting school.
Back in Germany, Pauline Pollmann starred in the ZDR production NEUER WIND IM ALTEN LAND, directed by Esther Gronenborn, and played a leading role in NORD NORD MORD - Sievers und der Gesang der Wale, directed by Berno Kürten.
She also played the lead role in a double episode of the successful ZDF crime series SCHWARZWALDKRIMI - VOGELFREY, directed by Marcus O. Rosenmüller. The broadcast is scheduled for autumn 2025.
Pauline Pollmann currently plays the ensemble lead role in the French-German co-production PHOENIX. The film is directed by Franck Brett. In the four-language series, she plays the headstrong daughter of a German industrial magnate, played by Benno Fürmann, who is taken hostage by a group of European eco-terrorists.
Pauline Pollmann studies art history and attends various acting courses.
