Growing up in Kempen as the only girl with five brothers in a patchwork family, acting was not on Hannah Gharib's agenda. Until her best friend drew her attention to an audition at the private acting school IAF - International Academy for Film Acting. Hannah Gharib auditioned and was immediately hired.

Her family had mixed feelings about acting, but Hannah Gharib prevailed, as so often in her life. The spark was lit.

Hannah Gharib studied film acting in Cologne from 2019 to 2022. Born in the Rhineland, she loses her shyness in front of the camera. She made her first short films during her studies, including the chamber drama ‘The Letter In The Sky’ about a handful of refugees in a small boat somewhere in the vast sea, directed by Mohsin Shan.

After passing her final exams, Hannah Gharib found a perfect partner in the Dreikrauss acting agency in Hamburg and her first small series engagements followed. With ‘Blackout bei Wellmanns’ (director: Leo Khasin/ZDF), ‘Marie Brand und der verfolgte Stalker’ (director: Mike Zens/ZDF) and ‘Polizeiruf Magdeburg - Unsterblich’ (director: Florian Kittel/ARD), Hannah Gharib recommended herself for larger formats.

Hannah Gharib is currently starring in an ensemble role in the ARD series ‘All Heroes are Bastards’, directed by Esra & Patrick Phul. Immediately afterwards, she will play the lead role of ‘Iris’ in the ARD literary adaptation ‘FÜR EUCH’. The successful novel was written by Iris Sayra and directed by Milena Aboyan.

Hannah Gharib lives in Cologne.
