Anna-Lena Schwing
The actress Anna-Lena Schwing was born in Bremen in 1996. Even as a child, she acted out her favourite films, including the film adaptations of ‘Pippi Longstocking’. In this way, she developed an early passion for acting. She performed on stage for the first time at Waldorf School in 2009. She did not remain undiscovered for long and was cast in the role of ‘Marieke’ in the play ‘Ich kann Fliegen zähmen, echt wahr’ (directed by Tanja Spinger) at the Junges Theater Bremen in 2010. After further roles at the Bremen theatre, she made her television debut in 2013. This was followed by appearances in popular TV series and serials, including GROSSSTADTREVIER (2014), SOKO Köln (2014) and NORD NORD MORD (2018).
From July 2020, Anna-Lena Schwing was seen in a continuous role in the ZDF disaster series SLØBORN (director: Christian Alvart & Adolfo J. Kolmerer). The German-Danish co-production hit the nerve of the times with its theme of a virus pandemic and achieved outstanding viewing figures. Anna-Lena Schwing appeared in the second season of the series on ZDFneo in 2022 and in the third season in 2024.
In 2020, Anna-Lena Schwing celebrated the premiere of Bjarne Mädel's directorial debut SÖRENSEN HAT ANGST at the Hamburg Film Festival. Anna-Lena Schwing plays the 17-year-old daughter of chief inspector Jennifer (Katrin Wichmann), who likes to get into loud arguments with her mum Jennifer. The film was broadcast on Ersten in 2021.
At the end of 2021, Anna-Lena Schwing was seen in a leading role as Maya Friedmann in the RTL+ series FRIEDMANNS VIER (director: Alexander Costea).
In 2022, she was seen in the drama AUF DEM GRUND (director: Thorsten Schmidt) on Ersten. In the TV film, which premiered in 2019 and was nominated for the Hamburg Producer Award for German TV productions, Anna-Lena Schwing plays a young swimmer who is ruthlessly drilled by her ambitious coach (Claudia Michelsen) to achieve her goals.
Anna-Lena Schwing also appeared in the comedy ZWEI UNTER MILLIONEN (director: Matthias Tiefenbacher) in 2022.
Anna-Lena Schwing was seen in a strong guest role on Easter Saturday, 8.4.23, 8.15 pm, in the ZDF film MARIE BRAND UND DIE FALSCHE WAHRHEIT alongside Mariele Millowitsch and Hinnerk Schönemann. In May 2023, she starred in the ZDF fairytale film RAPUNZEL, which was broadcast on 26 December 2023. The drama WOLFSJAGD, in which Anna-Lena Schwing can be seen alongside Maria Simon, Jörg Schüttauf and many wolves, was also broadcast in 2023.
The Dresden crime scene SIEBENSCHLÄFER, directed by Thomas Sieben, is currently being filmed.
Alongside her creative work as an actress, Anna-Lena Schwing is also a successful director and author. Together with fellow actor Maximilian Mundt, she has already realised her own short film, directed five episodes of the ZDFneo series "Pumpen" and conceived and realised the trailer for Filmfest Hamburg 2024.
Anna-Lena Schwing was accepted to the 37th Munich Screenwriting Workshop 2025/26 and is preparing her feature film debut. The finished screenplay will be presented at the Munich Film Festival 2026 as part of the Screenplay Workshop.
