Lilli Fichtner

Lilli Fichtner was born in Berlin in 1993. She gained her first stage experience whilst still at nursery, playing ‘Snow White, who whispered the other children’s lines into their ears’. It was a ‘childhood full of art’, Lilli Fichtner recalls today. Playing the piano, the clarinet, singing in a choir, taking singing lessons and acting were all part of her daily life and shaped her youth. She wrote her first poems during those early years and began composing her own songs at the age of 10.

At 13, Lilli Fichtner discovered film – as a stand-in for lighting in "The Reader". A year later, in 2008, she played her first film role in Michael Haneke’s multi-award-winning film "The White Ribbon", which served as a springboard to successful careers for numerous young actors and actresses.

Since then, Lilli Fichtner has appeared in over 45 film and television productions, including various episodes of the successful ARD series "Tatort" – as a witness, a murderer and, most recently, a surviving victim – , in the hit SAT.1 series “Danni Lowinski”, where she had a fight with Annette Frier, in the multi-award-winning two-part drama “Gladbeck”, based on true events, the hit ARD production “Babylon Berlin”, in which she has played the ‘good-natured Doris, Charlotte’s friend’ since 2016 and takes centre stage in the final series; in the ZDF television film ‘Die Wannseekonferenz’, in which she portrayed the only female role amongst the leading figures of the SS, the NSDAP and the ministerial bureaucracy; and most recently on the big screen in "Bärbel Bohley – Tagebuch einer Auflehnung", playing the lead role in the docudrama for which she also composed the film score.

Lilli Fichtner studied acting at Konrad Wolf University in Potsdam, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2023 with a dissertation on ‘the role of actors in the growing video game industry’.

This was followed by theatre engagements including a role at the Kammerspiele Hamburg in the play "Die Laborantin" (title role), the lead role in the stage adaptation of Maria Schrader’s "Ich bin dein Mensch" (world premiere) and the ‘female Bjarne Mädel’ – aka crime scene cleaner Schotty – in the stage adaptation of the series "Tatortreiniger".

Lilli Fichtner has just finished filming the Dortmund episode of "Tatort: Heilung". She plays the lead role of Sonya, who is on the run from her former employer, the head of the medical start-up Healing – she is convinced he wants to kill her. She has been living underground in Dortmund’s metro tunnels for weeks and trusts no one, until she meets Faber. She is completely at the end of her tether, both mentally and physically. A scene filmed without a safety net and completely without make-up! The episode will be broadcast in autumn 2026.

In the latest series of "Babylon Berlin", Series 5, the good-natured Doris – who has been a supporting character since Series 1 and accompanied Charlotte (Liv Lisa Fries) on her job hunt and to the dance marathon – has made something of herself: she has taken up a prestigious job at the Rundfunkhaus. For her, good politics means: ‘I’m doing well right now.’ That’s why she’s enthusiastic about the ‘rising star’ Adolf Hitler and tries to win her friend Charlotte over to the ‘Women for Hitler’ movement. Her convictions begin to waver when she falls in love with a colleague who doesn’t seem to fully share her political views. A study of susceptibility to seduction and character in politically turbulent times, the series is also due to be broadcast in autumn/winter 2026.

And whilst several of her films have already won numerous awards, Lilli Fichter received a nomination for the 2026 Acting Award in the ‘Outstanding Performance’ category for her role as Mrs Möller in Wolfgang Becker’s "Der Held vom Bahnhof Friedrichstraße2. The awards ceremony will take place on 11 September 2026 in Berlin.
